About SGBV e-Training Platform

The  SGBV e-Training Platform is a comprehensive online platform dedicated to educating and empowering the Nigerian Police Force officers to effectively respond to and prevent Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

We believe that every individual has the right to live free from violence and discrimination, but across the country, many are victims of the shackles & trauma of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

Our mission is to equip law enforcement officers with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to build a safer society for all, especially women, girls, and other vulnerable groups.

Our Vision:

In curbing this menace, we are guided by a vision of a society where SGBV is recognized, prevented, and responded to promptly and effectively, ensuring justice and protection for all survivors.

Why We Do It:

SGBV is a serious human rights violation with devastating consequences for individuals, families, and communities. It undermines social development and hinders economic progress. We believe that police officers play a crucial role in addressing SGBV by:

  • Preventing and responding to SGBV incidents: This includes providing timely and effective support to victims, investigating crimes, and holding perpetrators accountable.

  • Promoting awareness and understanding of SGBV: Educating officers and the public about SGBV issues is essential for combating discrimination and promoting social change.

  • Building trust and confidence in the police: By demonstrating professionalism and sensitivity in handling SGBV cases, police can build trust with victims and communities, encouraging them to report incidents and seek help.
